Super Summer Specials!

Hello, and greetings from my writing hammock in my secret garden where I am working on my next release, Trucker Daddy! Now that the sun is out and the days are nicer, I decided I wanted to do something special for my readers so you will always have an affordable book to read all summer long! 

Welcome to my Super Summer Specials where I will be offering one of my books on kindle countdown for 99c each week starting today, and going throughout the summer. The books will go on sale each Monday thru Sunday. Each week I will also be posting a fun summer recipe or a tip or tidbit of information, relating to the book on special.

That said, I’m going to kick off the Super Summer Specials with one of my all-time favorite books, Saving Simon – Book 5 of my Bad Boys of Sweetwater: Tarnished Saints Series. 

My hero, Simon Taylor is one of 12 brothers. He is an ex-navy officer and now a security officer aboard a cruise ship. When he saves Piper Westbrook who gets knocked  overboard, he never dreams he’d end up being attracted to the woman. Then again, neither does he expect her to show up in his little hometown of Sweetwater, Michigan, threatening to close down the mariner that is such a big part of his life!

This book was inspired by my husband’s love of water and sailing. I, on the other hand, am more like Piper and don’t care that much for the water. Doing research for the story, I learned to sail with my husband, and in doing so discovered the magic of gliding over the water and life on the docks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Growing up visiting my grandparents in Michigan I often spent time at the lake where they lived, and this entire series is based on places, people, and things from my own life. At the end of each story I tell a personal experience that ended up getting written into my book. In Saving Simon, Simon takes Piper peach picking in the orchards (another thing I did in my life.) In each book my hero and heroine makes a quick easy meal and all the recipes are on my website. One of my favorites is what Piper (or Pippa as Simon calls her) makes for him – Grilled spiced peaches with vanilla bean ice cream and fresh mint. Click HERE to see the recipe.

First of all, Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! I love this holiday. It is my all-time favorite because of the colors, the roses, the hearts, and all the love.

Halloween is a great time for tricks as well as treats. My favorite treat this time of year is spiced cider. It is simple and easy to make. Just fill a small crockpot with apple cider, throw in 4 – 5 cinnamon sticks, and about a dozen cloves and let it simmer. Great for those cool autumn nights!

I have fresh, new covers on my Tarnished Saints Series and am so excited about it, I’d like to offer you  Saving Simon – Book 5 for FREE from Aug. 21 – Aug. 25.

Simon is one of my favorite Taylor brothers, because he is my sailor. When I wrote the book, I spent the summer on the docks, learning to sail. In this book, Simon and Piper also go to an orchard to pick peaches – something I used to do growing up. Of course, Piper is a city girl and not used to what Simon has in store for her.

 

Here is a recipe I love to make on the grill each year with fresh peaches. If you haven’t tried it – it is to die for. Pippa’s Grilled Peaches and Ice Cream.

Dragons, Dreams, and the Weather

I’ve just finished my first draft of Highland Spring, and found myself getting very emotional with the heart-warming ending. A tribute for the holidays!

With Easter as well as Mother’s Day approaching quickly, how do you intend to spend your holidays? I love throwing something on the grill and enjoy listening to the sounds of spring, such as the birds singing. I can’t wait to see what Mother Nature has drummed up with the wildflowers in my yard. One of my favorite things to grill is corn on the cob. Did you know I have original recipes in my Tarnished Saints’ Series? Here is the recipe for Angel’s Picnic Corn from the book, Doubting Thomas. Angel works for Child Services and while on vacation at Thunder Lake with her young daughter, she unofficially investigates a man named Thomas Taylor. Thomas is the single father of six boys and has been accused by the town of murdering his wife. I love this book because it shows the life of a falsely accused single parent struggling to do whatever he can to keep his children from being taken away. And of course, there is romance involved with the heroes who end up being the fathers to the children. I’ve been busy working on Highland Spring – Book 1 of my Seasons of Fortitude Series. This is the series that follows the Legendary Bastards of the Crown Series and is about the bastard triplets’ sisters. Spring has been stolen as a baby and raised as a warrior. But when she marries Shaw Gordon in a fake alliance in order to help her father and her clan overtake Shaw’s castle, things don’t go as planned. She’s found herself falling in love with the enemy, and becoming attached to his three children as well. Can love soften the heart of a woman who has known nothing but raiding and killing in her life? And will Shaw be the man who breaks down the walls that imprison her hidden emotions within her? My heroine has mastered the bow and arrows, and I am in the process of researching how bow and arrows were made back in the medieval times. It is fascinating to see what can be constructed from just trees in the forest!
