I am excited to tell you about my new Holiday Knights Series. Mistletoe and Chain Mail, Book 1 is now on preorder for only 99 cents and will release on Nov. 21st.
The books in this series will all be medieval novellas that focus around a holiday – medieval style. Now you can find out where the holiday traditions originated and what they did in medieval times, what they ate, and how they celebrated.
In Book 1, you will find out how back in the medieval times they celebrated Christmas for 12 days, until Twelfth Night. It ended with the celebration of the Epiphany, the arrival of the Magi. They had some crazy traditions you won’t want to miss.
Mistletoe and Chain Mail is a fun book that features a lot of food of the medieval times and Sir Adam de Ware, the knight who cooks. He is on a mission from the king as his spy. When he arrives at Cavendish Castle, he needs to pry secrets out of the cold-hearted Lady Eva. She likes to eat, and he likes to cook. So he decides to seduce her with food.
This is fashioned after the Twelve Days of Christmas. Pick up a copy and experience a medieval Christmas like never before!
This Halloween, I have chosen six of my books that either take place at Halloween or have some spooky things happening in them, and priced them at 99 cents for you.
Halloween first originated many years ago where it started as a pagan Celtic celebration called Samhain. There were no pumpkins in medieval England, but they carved gourds and lit them with candles to ward away the evil spirits. Children didn’t go trick-or-treating for candy, but they begged at doorsteps for soul cakes instead. Each cake eaten supposedly released a poor spirit from purgatory. The soul cakes had a cross on top and were filled with currants and spices. Click HEREto see a photo and get the recipe to make these ancient soul cakes.
The Caretaker of Showman’s Hill:This is a vampire romance inspired by a real life circus train wreck and the cemetery where the performers were laid to rest. I’ve visited this cemetery personally. Basil Wensilton III guards over a vial of potion, living in the cemetery keeping the other vampires at bay when snoopy reporter Cassie Briggs, comes looking for her missing sister.
Familiar: Slade Spencer is a warlock in denial who comes back to his hometown to find that his past lover, Susie Vasilly is now a cursed woman who shapeshifts into his evil uncle’s cat – or Familiar each night. The villain’s three dozen cats were inspired by an old woman who once lived in my neighborhood and had tons of cats in her house.
Ian:(MadMan MacKeefe Series) Ian MacKeefe sees the face of a man he’s killed in the bonfire on All Hallow’s Eve. Little does he know that his best friend’s sister, Kyla has eyes for him but her future lies in an evil man’s hands instead unless Ian can change it. In this story you will find out how a lot of our Halloween traditions first got started.
Lady and the Wolf:(Tangled Tales Series) Hugh de Bar has been cursed by an evil witch and shapeshifts into a wolf at night. One night he meets up with Lady Winifred (Red) Chaserton and her crossbow in the forest and finds out she is the granddaughter of the man who made him this way. This was inspired by the fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood.
The Pandora Curse:(Greek Myth Series) Vara the Conqueror is a ruthless warrior woman who has to lose her vices unknowingly, and Hera’s soothsayer son, Nicolai is the one to do it. Inspired by the Greek Myth of Pandora and the shows Xena and Hercules from many years ago. (You will love Baruch the shapeshifting minion that brings humor to this read.)
Muffet:(Once Upon a Rhyme Series) Candy Willowsby is taken over by the ghost of Little Miss Muffet who is out for revenge. Inspired by the nursery rhyme, Little Miss Muffet as well as an old scary house in my neighborhood.
Pick up your Halloween Reads now because the prices will be changing right after the holiday in a few days’ time. All books are also available in print, and some in audiobook form as well. To find out more about these books or other books in each series please visit my website.

Hope to see you all at my facebook party on the 5th. I enjoy getting to know my readers and feel this brings us closer together.
When I started this series, I knew I wanted to write about a second generation from some of my past characters. I took a poll with my readers and hands down the winning vote was for me to write about the children of the Legendary Bastards of the Crown.
Since the bastard triplets of the king were such strong and memorable characters, I of course had to make their daughters strong and feisty as well. Secrets of the Heart features Reed’s daughter, Fia in Highland Secrets, Rook’s daughter, Willow in Seductive Secrets, and Rowen’s daughter, Maira in Rebellious Secrets. (Rebellious Secrets is now on preorder for 99 cents, releasing on Nov. 28th.) The girls have been chosen by the queen to be part of a secret society of strong women. Reed has a second daughter, Morag who shows up in the series as a supporting character. I never meant for her to have her own story, but she is such a fun character that I couldn’t resist. Morag’s story will be Forgotten Secrets, Book 4. Look for it this winter.
In case you missed Rook’s story, I have put Ruthless Knighton kindle countdown for 99 cents through Oct. 2nd. This will give you insight of Willow’s father. (KU can read both series plus the Seasons of Fortitude Seriesthat is about the triplets’ sisters, for free.)
The books are also available in print and in audiobook format.
As I’m sure most of you know, I have a granddog who keeps me pretty busy. She is a sweet thing as well as very active, being a herding dog. I started to think about my books and how many of them have dogs in them. So, I decided to put together the boxed set, Loyal Hearts, with some of my favorites stories that all have heroes with dogs. Some have more than one dog, such as Benedict from Autumn’s Touch with 12 dogs, and John from Loving John who is a musher and has a team of sled dogs. Dog lovers will love this set! It is 99 cents and KU reads free but only for a limited time.
In my next blog I will tell you a little bit behind the scenes on my next release, Muffet that is on preorder now for 99 cents and will be released on Oct. 4th. I am having a facebook party to celebrate these two releases and would love you to join in on the fun. I even have a pre-party contest going on where you can win a beautiful heart bracelet. So hop on by and check it out now. Hit the GOING button if you think you might come to the party.
Finally, the long awaited Rogues to Lovers set is here! 7 bestselling authors bring you 7 all new stories that are based on the Legend of the Blue Rose. When the rare blue rose blooms, enemies will turn to lovers.
My contribution to the set is Scottish Rose. Coira MacDuff, the heroine of my book was a secondary character in Aidan – Book 2 of my MadMan MacKeefe Series. She is betrothed to an English lord but to her horror, he takes her back to Liddel Castle where she and her sister were recently captives and put in hanging cages by the English. Can a woman look past her horrific past to find love in the future with a man who is related to the man who once kept her captive?
I’d like to also invite all of you to the facebook party for Rogues to Lovers that is happening tonight from 5:30 – 9 pm Central time. I’ll be kicking off the party with a live video. There will be lots of giveaways, contests, games and fun. There is even going to be a live video straight from a historical romance conference where Amy, Lauren and Collette will fill us in on what’s happening there. So come join me as well as authors Laurel O’Donnell, Lauren Smith, Catherine Kean, Amy Jarecki, B.J. Scott and Collette Cameron. My book, Scottish Rose has a dog on the cover. I was inspired to write a dog into the book because of my own rescue granddog that has been keeping me on my toes and away from writing since the spring. I have to share this photo with you. It was not done intentionally, but I laughed aloud when I realized the resemblance.
If you like dogs, I also want to tell you about another book with a dog in it. It’s Highland Secrets – Book 1 of my Secrets of the Heart Series. My hero, Alastair MacPherson has a very troublesome but loveable dog named Cerberus. You won’t want to miss this one. It is also now available in audiobook format. And coming up is Book 2 of the series, Seductive Secretswhich will release on Sept. 26th. My Secrets of the Heart Series empowers women. The daughters of my Legendary Bastards of the Crown are in a secret society of strong women set up by the late queen.
Speaking of dogs, I have put together a boxed set where my heroes all have at least one dog and one of them even has a dozen dogs! It is called Loyal Hearts. You can pick it up for a limited time for only 99 cents. (Kindle Unlimited reads free.) It has over a thousand pages of romance, intrigue . . . and dogs.
Now, getting back to the Rogues to Lovers release. To celebrate, I have a contest for you. I am giving away a pair of blue rose earrings along with the audiobook of Aidan. (You can listen and find out about Coira before you read her story.) I am also giving away a signed copy of Highland Spring, Book 1 of my Seasons of Fortitude Series.
Enter through the rafflecopter below.
Hope to see you all at the facebook party. And remember, as said by Anne Bronte: He who dares not grasp the thorn should never crave the rose.Rogues to Lovers, available on amazon, kobo, barnes and noble and iBooks.
Over twenty years ago I started writing my first romance novel. That was Lord of the Blade – back then called Devon’s Desire. It was almost bought by Harlequin, but the editor left on maternity leave and with her went my chance to be published by this big, prestigious publishing house.
Nevertheless, when I started publishing my own books after losing my job five years ago, I started with Lord of the Blade. It was an experiment and I thought no one would buy a lone book from a virtually unknown author. But, to my surprise, it sold quite well and to date is one of my top three sellers!
I didn’t have social media or a mailing list or even a website for the first year of publishing on my own. Still, the readers somehow found me and bought my books. Thank you, all of you for all your support! I hadn’t written a word in ten years, and the five books I had traditionally published were virtually dead by now since it had been so long. So this was a scary, but exciting new career change for me.
Today, I am proud to say I am working on my 75th book and loving being my own boss. I control what I write and I make my own covers. Yes, this is a dream job for me, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Lord of the Blade has recently gone through professional editing, as well as gotten a new cover. And it is now available in audiobook form, narrated by the multi-talented UK narrator, Kevin E. Green. (Click on the audiobook photo to purchase or to listen to an excerpt of the narration on amazon. The audiobook is also available on itunes and audible.) The narration brings the story and the wonderful characters to life. Above you’ll see a movie poster for the book. Hopefully, someday that dream will come true. I would love to see my books made into movies.
You will notice a few other new covers in the series as well. Watch for the whole series to be in audiobook form, hopefully by the end of the year! The books are all available as paperbacks on amazon or Barnes and Noble or ebooks from amazon only. If you are a kindle unlimited member, you can read the entire series for free.
Lord of the Blade is a story about a man (Corbett Blake) who is out to find redemption since his father married the vicar’s daughter and has sullied the Blake family name. (See the prequelfor more on this.) Lord Corbett’s father had been stripped of his title before he died. But now Corbett has worked hard to regain the castle and lands that were lost. All he needs to satisfy the king and bring honor back to the family name is a noble wife. Devon is a girl who has been hidden away and raised at the monastery by the old midwife, Heartha, brought there by an old sorcerer right after she was born. Corbett finds her and brings her to his castle as his servant, and against all rules, he and Devon start to fall in love. But not everything is as it seems. And sometimes our dreams can come true if only we believe. Watch Lord Corbett’s raven closely, because there are some secrets amiss and you won’t want to overlook a clue.
So pick up your free copy of Lord of the Blade before the offer expires. And if you’d like to see the old covers, I haven’t had the chance to change them in the booktrailer yet. It is still a great trailer, so check it out as well as some of my other booktrailers by clicking HERE.
